Norma Angélica Ortega was born in and grew up in México City. She earned a master’s degree in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature from the National University of México (UNAM) with a minor in poetry.

She is author of Vicente Huidobro Altazor y Las Vanguardias, a critical review on the artistic movements in the earliest 20th century through the poem Altazor.

She has also published her own poetry in magazines and newspapers in Mexico City and is currently working on her next book, Cuadernos de Seattle.
